On June 26, 2024, IPECC in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning (MoEPP) within the framework of the project “Development of legal analysis for establishing geoparks”, organized a workshop on establishing geoparks.
At the workshop, the Analysis of national legislation on environment and nature in North Macedonia was presented, including the recommendations for proposed amendments and additions to the national legislation for establishment of geopark, as well as a Guide for geopark establishment according to the UNESCO criteria.
The focus of the discussion was the geological potential of our country, including all the main stages in the process of establishing an UNESCO Geopark.
