On January 15th, 2024, the Institute for Good Governance and Policies in the Environment and Climate Change – IPECC, has signed an agreement with the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning (MoEPP) for implementation of the project entitled “Development of legal analysis for establishing geoparks” .
The main goal of the project is to analyze the national regulation, with proposal to amend and supplement the national legislation for establishment of geoparks in the Republic of North Macedonia. Geoparks are specific regions that bring together unique geological, cultural and natural features.
Within the framework of the project, in addition to the legal analysis, a Guide for the establishment of UNESCO Geoparks will be developed.
The project is fully financed by the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning of the Republic of North Macedonia.
